After weeks of fan theories, blurry photo sightings and social media breadcrumbs, Summer House viewers finally got confirmation: Amanda Batula and West Wilson are hooking up.
Batula, 34, and Wilson, 31, shared matching statements on their Instagram Stories on Tuesday, saying it “was never our intention to purposely hide anything.”
“Given the complicated relationship dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it,” they added.
And yes — those “complicated dynamics” are doing a lot of heavy lifting here.
They include Kyle Cooke, Batula’s estranged husband and original Summer House star. There’s also Wilson’s ex-girlfriend and co-star — who just so happens to be Batula’s very close friend — Ciara Miller (you may also know them from The Traitors).
So whether you’ve been tracking every twist or just need a quick download before it comes up at happy hour, here’s what to know.
Batula and Wilson confirm new “connection” — and Miller unfollows
In what can only be described as a slightly head-scratching statement, the Bravo stars issued a joint message addressing reports they are seeing each other.
“We've seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity,” it began.
“We've shown up for each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows, and what's developed recently was the last thing either of us expected. Our connection grew out of a genuine, long-standing friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care,” they continued.
“As our feelings evolved, we wanted to take time to understand exactly what we were feeling,” the statement concluded. “We also recognize that this has had an impact beyond just us and never wanted our actions to cause any hurt or be perceived as careless. We truly appreciate the understanding and respect as we navigate this.”
If that sounds more like a carefully worded press release than a hard launch, you’re not alone — fans quickly pointed out how much is being said without actually defining the relationship.
Meanwhile, there’s at least one reaction that feels a little more straightforward: a quick check of Miller’s Instagram shows she no longer follows either Batula or Wilson.
Wait… why is this a big deal? Everyone is single.
To understand why this reveal has people so invested, you have to start with Batula and Cooke.
Summer House viewers have been riding their emotional roller coaster since the show premiered in 2017. (They started dating in 2015.) The two were casually seeing each other when cameras first picked up in the Hamptons, eventually making things official in the Season 1 finale. Batula officially joined the cast in Season 2.
From there, their relationship became one of the show’s central storylines — including Cooke’s 2018 proposal and his later admission that he had been unfaithful, all of which played out onscreen.
They ultimately stayed together, with their September 2021 wedding filmed for the series. But even after walking down the aisle, rumors about Cooke’s infidelity continued to follow the couple as he recently pursued a side passion of being a DJ. Batula was open on camera about being hesitant to have children amid their different lifestyle choices.
Then, in January, Batula and Cooke announced they had “mutually and amicably decided to part ways as a couple” after four years of marriage. She was met with a lot of fan support.
Now, onto Miller and Wilson.
Miller, a model and nurse, joined the show in its fifth season in 2021. Wilson arrived in Season 8 and quickly became a fan favorite — so much so that The New York Times even profiled him, which is practically unheard of in the reality TV world.
So when Miller and Wilson went from flirting to hooking up — and eventually dating — viewers were all in. But the relationship didn’t last. The two split months later, with Miller suggesting he wasn’t ready to fully commit amid his sudden rise in popularity. By Season 9, she had largely cut off communication with him.
Now, as Season 10 plays out, one of the show’s central storylines has been Miller and Wilson’s rekindled, flirtatious friendship — and the lingering question of whether they might find their way back to each other. According to unverified internet chatter, Miller and Wilson may have even started hooking up again late last year, making this new development all the more surprising.
Which is why the current situation feels anything but simple. Let’s not forget Miller and Batula are very, very close friends both on and offscreen, as evident in Yahoo’s joint interview with them in November.
The timeline – and cast reactions
The first major spark came on March 5, when gossip account DeuxMoi reported that Batula and Wilson were allegedly hooking up — a claim that quickly spread across Bravo fan circles.
Days later, on March 10, Cooke addressed the rumors during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live. At the time, he downplayed the speculation, telling Andy Cohen, “For it to go as long as it has in the news cycle is kind of shocking… but no, I don’t think there’s any merit to it.”
Still, his response left room for interpretation. When pressed, Cooke admitted the idea would “catch [him] by surprise” and even feel “a little reckless,” before adding that Ciara Miller would likely “have something to say” — a comment that fueled further speculation about the group dynamic.
By March 24, Wilson was asked about the rumors himself. While he didn’t confirm them, he also didn’t directly deny them.
“She’s single now,” he said. “We’re just hanging out in New York… I kinda gotta show her the streets, you know?”
He added, “If it’s not clear, that’s a very important person to me, and I, like, care about her a lot,” before referring to Batula as “a friend” when pressed further.
Following Wilson’s remarks, Batula appeared to respond on social media. After a user commented on Instagram that Wilson was “a safe boy bestie” and that the two would “never date,” Batula replied, “THANK YOUUUUUUU.”
Two days later, Page Six claimed Batula and Miller were feuding and filmed something for Amazon Live separately, despite it being scheduled as a joint appearance.
On March 29, Southern Charm star Austen Kroll, who apparently recently hung out with Cooke, sent the internet into overdrive by posting on his Instagram story: "Pasta and f*** your friends exes are apparently so back.”
Summer House OG stars Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke, plus newbie Kj Dillard, posted cryptic images on social media. Each shared a still of themselves from the show making a shocked, “WTF”-style expression.
Cooke entered the chat on March 30 by posting Instagram photos with Miller. He also replied to a fan comment wondering how he felt about the hookup rumors with two telling emojis.
Is this Scandoval-level of a big deal?
Not quite — at least not based on what viewers know right now.
The situation has drawn inevitable comparisons to “Scandoval,” the 2023 Vanderpump Rules scandal that dominated pop culture conversation for months. Back in March of that year, it was revealed that Tom Sandoval had been having a months-long affair with co-star Raquel Leviss while still in a relationship with Ariana Madix — a betrayal that played out both on and off camera and sent shockwaves through the Bravo universe.
The fallout was immediate and massive: friendships ended, filming resumed to capture the aftermath and the scandal quickly became one of the most talked-about reality TV storylines in years.
By comparison, the Batula-Wilson situation — at least as it currently stands — does not involve any confirmed cheating.
That said, the reason it’s generating so much attention comes down to something Bravo viewers know well: when relationships overlap within a tight-knit group, the ripple effects tend to play out in real time, dividing the cast, and ultimately, having some kind of production impact.
With the Summer House reunion around the corner and its spinoffIn the City, starring Batula and Cooke, things should be interesting.
